CLASS DESCRIPTIONS
CREATE WITH FRIENDS
All classes are one hour each week.
Art & Sewing
Beginners Art: Ages 5-8
The little ones in this class will explore all kinds of mediums from paint to clay to charcoal. It's all about expressive fun!
Intermediate Art: Ages 9-12
Teen Art Class: Ages 13 and up
Each of our painting and drawing classes are project-oriented and geared toward the age group in each class. Self-expression combined with learning about art elements and theory, make each class unique!
Sewing Class: Ages 6 & up
Students will learn useful hand sewing skills while building confidence in the process. Beginning on felt with hand sewing, students will work their way up to making their own clothes on a sewing machine. At the end of the year, the students will display what they have created at Spring Showcase.
Movement
Ballet & Tap: Ages 3-5
The little ones in this 1-hour class will begin with a warm-up and stretching routine, then will move into ballet instruction. Formal teaching instruction combined with fun and games!
Ballet & Jazz: Ages 6-8
One half of each class will be devoted to ballet and the other half will be devoted to jazz instruction. Our instructor will work on technique throughout the year and will focus on a dance routine starting in the spring as the class prepares for our Spring Showcase.
Ballet & Jazz: Ages 9 and up
This class is designed for the older child who has never had ballet classes, but would like to quickly advance to an intermediate level.
Tumbling Classes: Ages 3 and up
Each class is one hour, once a week. Students will work on fundamental tumbling skills and build upon their starting level. We use mats and basic tumbling equipment to aid in instruction.
Beginning Boxing: Ages 10 & up
Students will begin with hand wraps, practicing stances, jabs, and boxing forms. Students will not spar with each other, but will practice with our instructor.
Theatre
Teen Theatre Class: Ages 13 & up
This theatre class is focused on producing a complete play. These students have some experience in stage acting and will be learning more refined techniques. The work load is also more intense as they learn their lines for the productions throughout the year: one small production for Christmas, and a larger production for our Spring Showcase (May 2, 2027).
Musical Theatre: Ages 6 & up
Students will learn elements of musical theatre including acting, choral music, and choreography. This class will produce a full length production on April 30-May 2, 2027.
Encore Sessions: Older Teens & Adults (Ages 16 & up)
The Encore Sessions are a series of classes throughout the school year where older teens and adults can pick and choose which classes they will attend. Each class session will run for 8 weeks with 4 unique topic offerings.
Audition Academy: Auditioning for Stage and Film
August 17- October 5
Students will learn etiquette and best practices to audition for both stage and film. They will also build their “rep” books, recording a filmed reel that can be used for future auditions that require digital submissions.
Broadway Classics
October 19 - December 14
Students will be learning some of their favorite songs from Broadway. Brush up on your singing and dancing skills. Only the hits!
Shakespeare & Swordplay
January 4 - March 1
Step into the iconic world of Shakespeare through acting and movement. Explore famous characters and stories while learning the basics of stage combat and movement. Perfect for aspiring actors & English lit enthusiasts looking to build confidence and acting skills.
Showcase Session
March 8 - April 26
