CLASS DESCRIPTIONS

All classes are one hour each week.
Art & Sewing
PreSchool Art: Ages 3-5
The little ones in this class will explore all kinds of mediums from paint to clay to charcoal. It's all about expressive fun!

Beginners Art: Ages 6-9
The little ones in this class will explore all kinds of mediums from paint to clay to charcoal. It's all about expressive fun!

Art Class: Ages 10 and up
Each of our painting and drawing classes are project-oriented and geared toward the age group in each class. Self-expression combined with learning about art elements and theory, make each class unique!
​
Sewing Class: Ages 6 & up
Students will learn useful hand sewing skills while building confidence in the process. Beginning on felt with hand sewing, students will work their way up to making their own clothes on a sewing machine. At the end of the year, the students will hold a fashion show to present what they've created.

Sewing Class: Advanced Beginner
Similar to our introductory sewing class, but moving at a slightly quicker pace.
Movement
Ballet: Ages 3-5,
The little ones in this 1-hour class will begin with a warm-up and stretching routine, then will move into ballet instruction. Formal teaching instruction combined with fun and games!

Ballet & Tap: Ages 6-8 Ages 9 and up
One half of each class will be devoted to ballet and the other half will be devoted to tap instruction. Our instructor will work on technique throughout the year and will focus on a dance routine starting in the spring as the class prepares for our Spring Showcase.

Beginner Ballet: Ages 9 and up
This class is designed for the older child who has never had ballet classes. It is designed for the beginner.

Tumbling Classes: Ages 3 and up
Each class is one hour, once a week. Students will work on fundamental tumbling skills and build upon their starting level. We use mats and basic tumbling equipment to aid in instruction.

Beginning Boxing: Ages 6 & up
Students will begin with hand wraps, practicing stances, jabs, and boxing forms. Students will not spar with each other, but will practice with our instructor.
Theatre & Creative Writing
Theatre Class: Ages 12 & up
This theatre class is focused on producing a complete play. These students have some experience in stage acting and will be learning more refined techniques. The work load is also more intense as they learn their lines for the productions throughout the year: one small production for Christmas, and a larger production for our Spring Showcase (May 5, 2023).

Creative Writing: Ages 13 & up
The aim of this class is to teach long form writing including concepts such as organizing and outlining, character development, establishing and building a world for the story, and honing the ability to create larger works. The objective is for each student to understand and enjoy putting together a complex work of writing and gaining tools to improve general writing in the future.
Musical Theatre: Ages 6 & up
Students will learn elements of musical theatre including acting, choral music, and choreography. This class will produce two performances during the 2022-2023 school year (Christmas & Spring Showcase).
